A division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday sought details of ongoing inquiries in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The division bench headed by SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh issued these directives in a case pertaining to call-up notice of NAB over alleged illegal appointments in local government department Sindh and reprimanded the NAB investigation officer and prosecutor for their failure to satisfy the court regarding the accountability bureau's inquiries which are currently under way.

Several inquiries are underway, NAB prosecutor replied when SHC CJ asked the NAB prosecutor regarding how many inquiries are ongoing. Justice Sheikh directed NAB prosecutor to submit a statement regarding the number of inquiries that are ongoing and observed that some inquiries have been ongoing for the past two years by making the remarks that we will summon Sindh DG NAB in this situation.

Expressing anger at NAB, the SHC chief justice remarked, "You are quick to drag people's names through the mud but cannot finish inquiries even in two years. He said that NAB come to court without reading cases, this will no longer go on and directed it to submit details regarding all inquiries by ordering it to furnish the details of inquiries in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.
